Military content creator and U.S. Army veteran Nikko Ortiz recently visited the Bush Combat Development Complex in Texas to experience Helix Defense’s counter-drone technology firsthand.
During the demonstration, Ortiz observed the growing challenges drones present on today’s battlefield and evaluated the effectiveness of Helix Defense’s programmable anti-drone system against a live aerial target. The demonstration showcased the system’s ability to disable a BQ400 drone by targeting its propellers, neutralizing the threat with a single shot.
Throughout the video, Ortiz discusses the realities of engaging fast-moving drones in combat environments and compares the system’s performance to other counter-drone methods currently available. He also highlights the practical range and reliability of the technology, noting its potential to provide warfighters with a more effective defensive capability against emerging aerial threats.
